100 SEASONS. That's 25 times spring, summer, autumn and winter. 25 years ago, Markus Temming had the vision of "opti "mised eyewear. The frame should be lighter. More beautiful, simpler, more intelligent. Better. That this has been achieved during the last 100 seasons is proven not only by many happy MARKUS T faces, but also by countless facts. MARKUS T in figures:
3 moves: in 1998, still at his parents' kitchen table, then via the first long-term location in Gütersloh-Isselhorst to the transparent Manufaktur. In 2016, the MARKUS T brand arrived where it is at home now. The specially reconstructed and renovated building on the 8.857 square metre site of a former distillery provides a representative home with 2.500 square metres of space for MARKUS T's glasses Manufaktur.
Since then, the door of the Manufaktur has been opened in the morning and closed again in the evening a total of 1.583 times. Many hands and heads shape the success of MARKUS T every day. Some of them have been with the company for 10 or even 20 years. 27 babies have been born in the last 25 years. 3 of them belong to Markus and his wife Andrea.
We currently have 5 collections with 226 models in our portfolio The sum of shape, colour and configuration gives 285.647 possible combinations. The MIO P1020 in light blue currently leads the hit list of models. Markus' current favourites are the DOT Mono L1048 and the MIO P1030. 2 materials - only the best: We use titanium of the highest quality and our lightweight synthetic material TMi. Our lightest frame, the DESIGN Classic D1012, weighs 3,2 g.
We have registered 11 patents. Among others, for our MSC dyeing process for titanium. An individually manufactured frame takes 8 days on average before it leaves our factory. 20 hands - we take handwork literally. On average, it takes 20 hands to make a MARKUS T frame.
45 design awards: whether red dot, IF or German Design Award - the award list gets longer year after year. 35 countries: from Gütersloh Isselhorst to the world.
